Zawe is currently writing and directing a short film for BBC Films and developing an authored series for Lucky Giant. She is also under commission to Clean Break. 

 Zawe holds a BA Degree in Acting from Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre.

 Writing credits include: Farrago UK Poetry Slam! Champion (2000), Dream Factor (National Youth Theatre Schools Tour), Have a Butchers, Sweetness and Light (DryWrite), Edible Flowers (DryWrite at Latitude Festival), Girls Aloud (Clean Break Theatre).

 Zawe’s first play ‘Harm’s Way’ was shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award (2007). ‘Harms Way’ premiered in 2008 as part of the National Youth Theatre’s new writing season at The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays directed by Tessa Walker.

Zawe was part of the Royal Court Invited Writers Group led by Leo Butler and has completed commissions for Clean Break and the Bush Theatre Futures Scheme. She was also a Young Writer in Residence at Contact Theatre, Manchester (2006).
